Months ago, I decided to add a weapon light to my EDC Pistol. I've been waiting and waiting for Glock's new compact light, Surefire's new compact light, and Holosun's new compact light. I got tired of waiting and due to excellent customer reviews, availability of the product, and prior use of Nightstick flashlights, I went with two of these Nightstick 550XL Compact Weapon Lights for both my dry fire Airsoft Training Pistol and my EDC Glock 19. Nightsticks' newer model TCM10 offers increased lumens, a programmable safe off function, and a strobe function, but I didn't need or want any of those features, so I stuck with this less expensive older model 550XL. This is a quality product which is simple to mount and use, comes with a quality battery, and various rail plates to fit a variety of firearms. I installed it on a compact Glock, and it comes from the factory setup for that. I did have to make a couple modifications to the light. I choose not to use my right hand trigger finger to operate a light and being that the right hand switch interfered with my trigger finger moving from the frame to the trigger, I ground the switch down to ensure an unobstructed path for my trigger finger. Also, the rail mounting screw protruded out the side of the rail mount when tightened down, so I shortened the screw as necessary to remain flush when tightened down. 550 Lumens is adequate for outdoor nighttime penetration and is still useable indoors without any blinding reflections. The beam pattern is excellent, with a large hotspot which blends smoothly into plenty of peripheral lighting. This light is a great fit for the Glock 19, looks sharp, and does what a weapon light needs to do. So far, after hundreds of Airsoft reps and live fire rounds at the range, the only issue I’ve encountered is the tendency for the light to loosen on the rail. I’ve re-installed it with a drop of Blue Loctite on the screw and hopefully that will solve the loosening issue. I recommend giving this Nightstick a try if you are in the market for a compact weapon light. I've attached a few photos of the light mounted on my Airsoft Dry Fire Training Pistol.
